Earth Day Weekend Happs | Things to do on the Westside and beyond during Earth Day weekend

April showers bring May flowers but the song of Spring hits it’s high note on Earth day, Sunday April 22,

While we thought we were in for a drawn out winter, expect the weather to switch gears soon, reaching highs in the 80′s in the coming weeks. Now that sounds like a good reason to step away from our computers and get out and feel some warm sunshine. So go, take a walk, do some yoga, or hang out with the local skaters, and maybe even shop a bit in the hood to support the locals.

Here is WELO’s weekend round up on “Things to do on the Westside and beyond during Earth Day weekend”.

Tadasana Festival,  April 20the thru the 22nd.

If you were planning a trip to India or Indonesia for a yoga excursion perhaps coming to Santa Monica and attending the Tadasana Festival will get you motivated to book that trip.  The Tadasana Festival of Yoga & Music is the first three-day Yoga & Music festy to hit this side of town since forever. The Geffen Contemporary at Moca, April 20th- May 6th

Starting April 20, this 17-day festival will illustrate how audio and visual art forms complement and have influenced each other throughout the years. Come check out this interdisciplinary offering featuring the work of 16 contemporary artists, musicians, designers, filmmakers, and chefs, including Peter Coffin, Jim Drain, Will Fowler, Benjamin Jones, Mike Mills, Takeshi Murata, and Tom Sachs. Roy Choi’s of the Kogi Truck will be the guest chef…. “Roy Choi’s work is really analogous to what a hip-hop producer or DJ does, chopping up a sample, re-contextualizing it, adding beats, maybe a little vocal and so on and so on.” says festival MC- Mike D.  Sounds like…  you can’t stop and you won’t stop,  Mike D!
