San Francisco’s wildly popular Urban Air Market is finding new roots in Southern California and where a better place to plant them then right here in Venice. The Urban Air Market is coming to Abbot Kinney on Sunday, April 8th, 2012; the first time the event has hit LA since it’s inception 8 years ago.
The Urban Air Market is a curated marketplace for sustainable design held twice per year featuring 150 independent designers of men’s, women’s, and kid’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and home décor. Participating designers are selected based on their quality, originality, cleverness, and method of sustainability in design.
Organizers of The UAM tell us: We are inspired by “green” designers who are pushing the direction of fashion where it should be going. Previously known as the Capsule Design Festival in San Francisco, this free outdoor event is currently in its 8th year of success.
This is BIG news in my opinion. Venice has been looking for a spring festival to grip our little dirty hands and this well could be it.
Looking to participate? There are limited booths available, but the word on the street is they are going fast. If you’re a boutique on Abbot Kinney and are looking for added exposure and/or would love to simply participate in what will be “The AK Festival of the Spring” look no further and reserve your booth today.
Stay tuned as there will be much more info on this big event in the next few weeks. Until then, spread the word, stay groovy, and reserve your booth.
