Making New Friends | Halloween Edition

I was pretty bummed when I found out my unicorn posse had left me behind on Halloween weekend, missing my chance to watch DJ Zach Moore play Ghost Ship. (good thing he recorded his set and I can now listen to it here).

After a sad realization I needed new friends in my life, I decided to go on a mission to meet new people. I headed up to the burner party Dustination with some good vibes ready to get silly, trying my luck on a mountain ranch top in Altadena.

After rocking out to Will Levine‘s set, I got stuck in a friendly alligator’s head, had to pull the lesbian card on some creepy crawlers and finally a llama plain ol’ gave me the boot.

Quality friendships -like flowers- need nurturing. So the next day I caught the last showing of the Tim Burton exibit at LACMA with an old friend and ended up home at Area 33 enjoying Diva Danielle crush the dancefloor. The best part about friends is the ability they have to educate and inspire you. I finished my Hallows Eve weekend on the day of the dead occupying Downtown LA with friends old and new. If you still don’t know what the main objective of the protest is read 11 simple ways to support the occupy movement without sleeping in a park.

When’s the last time you made a new friend? take a page outta my book and make new friends or hang out with your old ones at First Fridays on Abbot Kinney tomorrow.

very special thanks to the Dirty Beetles for inspiring me to make new friendships.
