Venice native, Perry Farrel & Jane’s Addiction are back | FREE Download off their new album due out in August

Long time VENICE native, Perry  Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and off again bass player Avery, are releasing the group’s first new album in eight years.  “The Great Escape Artist,” , will be released Aug. 23 on Capitol Records, according to Farrell.

With the first ever Lollapalooza Chile in Santiago now in the books, festival co-founder Perry Farrell’s focus turns to his band, Jane’s Addiction, which is offering the first single off its upcoming album as a free download –  janes_addiction_end_to_the_lies or get it at

As for the new album, Farrell was quoted in Billboard [the album] was “70%-80% finished” and that it celebrates “escape from the confines of everyday life, escape from the workload, escape from your past, dissolving into the universe and getting a feeling like that.”

You can see the fellas around town. Perry and Etty roam freely with Etty and are quite approachable and gregarious, just don’t tell em WELO sent ya.  Stephen Perkins is around quite a bit, playing around with various bands including Mike Watt’s Banyan. He may be one of the nicest human beings I have ever met. Super humble and gracious cat.

As for Lollapalooza, it’s 20th anniversary festival at Chicago’s Grant Park is set for Aug. 5-7, with a full lineup to be announced later this month. 20 years…Fuck. I’m old.
